KanYe West put out a four song set yesterday at Facebook HQ. We at KWT are super pumped about this new KanYe stuff to come. I hope that it doesn't get leaked either. Also today he has joined Twitter, and has told us that "Good Ass Job" is no longer the title of his upcoming album. Also many people have been saying that this album is "incredible" from sources such as DJ Toomp. KanYe is about to be the only person I'm gonna have updates sent to my phone for Twitter. Hopefully he really does it to the fullest and gives us a real in-depth look on his ongoing projects. Super pumped. HE'S BACK.
I'm just gettin' on this Mac Miller kid but from what I have heard he is gonna be something. This song is super smooth and he has others that are just as good. Some of his stuff is a little too out there for me, but its really been a small amount of his work that I haven't liked. Get with him. His next mixtape is K.I.D.S., dropping August 13th, and he has The High Life out now for a free download. Ohh and he just got signed with Rostrum Records....Get with it.
KWT favorite Lupe Fiasco has been experiencing difficulties with his label regarding the release of his much anticipated third album, LASERS. If you are interested in hip hop music in any way, you should be looking forward to this album, as Lupe has always and is still killin' the game. If you want to support both Lupe and hip hop music, hit the link and sign this online petition to push the release of LASERS.
A little inside look on his show at Bape. KiD CuDi comes out and performs "REVOFEV". It wouldn't be a bad idea to just put this out as a music video the sound was really good, and it was a neat idea to just throw a surprise show for the fans. CuDDer.
....No really its not gonna happen. KiD CuDDer's album has already been slated to be pushed back to September 28th. It would have been really dope had they really done it, but with the legal mumbo jumbo that every artist always has to deal with it would have been tough. I mean damn fans are petitioning for Lupe's "Lasers" to be dropped and the big wigs there still won't drop it for us.
Info regarding Pac Div's debut project has been released via a tweet from the trio's producer @SwiffD. Swiff D tweeted that the album, "Grown Kid Syndrome," is slated for an October 12 release. I hate getting hyped about future projects based on non-official info, but I can't help it here. Pac Div's two mixtapes have been straight fire for the KWT, easily two of our favorite projects since the blog has launched. Along with Kanye and Lupe, the Pac Div album is definitely top 3 hip hop albums to look forward to...in my eyes at least. Stay posted.
The dope sounds of Mayer Hawthorne go so well with this one shot take video for "Your Easy Lovin' Ain't Pleasin'". Dude has some really cute girls in this one. If you don't know who Mayer Hawthorne is we at KWT fully recommend you to check him out. His music is great.
Here at KWT, we are pretty juiced up for J. Cole's album coming up. I love his quote that goes something like, "in the position that I am, I don't see me and Drake bein' best friends" haha. Well duhh man you kill Drake and that lame is getting plays over you. Wake up people J. Cole is about to take over.
Honestly, Spitta has given us fans so much free music it would only be right to actually go out and cop this even if half the album was already leaked. Go get it Jets fools. Hit the jump for Curren$y's interview with Complex.
I know it's a couple days late on our blog, but I didn't really think I would need to put it up cause it was Ricky Ross but he has been killin' as of lately. "Teflon Don" will be pretty good. Jay goes in and does his thing. Get the download...
Just listened to a few of the tracks and I liked what I heard. Give it a download. Support those who support. All four of these dudes go hard. Good, clean sound. This is going to be on my iPod and that's saying something... Get on it.
Now I don't know who Kingpen Slim, STS and Phil Ade are but they are all good and so is Wale. My favorite part of this song is the beat and the sample that Team Demo used. Big ups to Team Demo. Hit the download and give it a listen...
New Kids Wasting Time track, "Canton Girls." A KdubT version of Charles Hamilton's "Brooklyn Girls" and Hoodie Allen's "UPenn Girls." Check it and snag the download below. Look out for a mixtape coming from us in late Summer/Fall 2010. Enjoy.
Dom Kennedy's "1997" video. Watch the vid and listen to the track and you will understand why Dom's "From The Westside, With Love" mixtape has not stopped playing on either mine or Twaan's iPod. Get at it. And get on that tape if you aren't on Dom yet.
Cliff Skighwalker’s blogging is some of the most influential work on a blog I have come across. His blog pretty much motivates me each time I make a post. Cliff’s wittiness and bluntness is something that I truly admire. His random “5:03 A.M.” posts are some of the best posts I have ever seen on a blog. I know he is quite blunt about how he hates those bloggers who just post what other people are posting but we try to do so with a bit of a KWT twist. Without further ado, this is going to be my first random ass post about life and shit in general. And Cliff, if you think I'm biting your issshhh that is not my intention. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".
Cliff’s last post talked about “tightening your circle”. Recently I have begun to tighten up my own, and look who is beginning to be a lot happier... This DUDE! Haa. But for real, you need to cut out those lames who wear you down each and every day in order to be happy in this thing we call life. The people who give you headaches are not worth putting up with day in and day out, so listen up and “tighten that circle”.
Also about this recent pursuit of happiness I have been on… If you are like me who sometimes does things just to make someone else happy and you do this frequently even though it doesn’t please your needs or accomplish tasks on the trial of your own goals, you probably need to switch up that situation. I’m telling you, these headaches in our life are not worth it fam. Life is too damn short to go through all the fussing and struggling. Get on the road that’s gonna make YOU happy and ride it out!
MUSICALLY: The latest and greatest songs being played in the KWT headquarters is: Rick Ross feat. KanYe West –“Live Fast, Die Young”, Curren$y feat. Mikey Rockss – “The Hangover”, Dom Kennedy – “1997”, and Ricky Ross feat. Wiz Khalifa – “Super High” (remix)… Curren$y’s “Pilot Talk” is official… July 13th. You gotta get with that. Ohh yea I just recently got the iPod update for the touch and I think it is super dope. If you haven’t got the upgrade yet, go cop it nowww.
Recently have been making some serious decisions about life and probably the best advice I received was that whatever choice we make that choice isn't wrong. Life is constant learning and no matter what choice we make we will learn from it. True, one choice may bring bigger problems but we learn to make the other decision if it is ever brought upon us again. Life is constant learning and without struggles we would all live very boring lives. EVERYONE changes. Some for the better, others for the worst, but regardless if you are constantly staying in the same position and mind frame, you need to start reevaluating your purpose in this life. No one should be completely satisfied with their life, and everyone needs to be on some sort of pursuit of happiness. Certain changes in life will help with our happiness, so get on with the change.
Okaaaaaaayyyyyy (Wiz voice) well now, this whole talk about the G.O.O.D. Music release date for the big three’s albums (KanYe, Big Sean, and KiD CuDi) is all nice and dandy but it is most likely just to get a bunch of hype. Even though most the hype is unneeded, we already know isshh is gonna be dope. Haa. If this truly happens and hopefully they prove us doubters wrong, September 14th will destroy the hip hop game. It will be complete chaos. If it happens I can’t wait. Haa.
Ohh yeah and about “Anchorman”… I just watched it last night for the first time. I wasn't impressed at all. “Semi-Pro” was wayyy better. Haha sorry Twaan (He loves that issh).
Quote of the Week: "You gotta push yourself to be the best you can be and don't worry about nobody else. Remember "theirs" ain't got nothing to do with "yours"." – Dom Kennedy
These Griffey's are super clean. These metallic platinum and black ones are so nice. I have been watching the Griffey's in the stores for awhile and I would really love to cop a pair. These colors have me sold and if I see em they will most likely be bought. You can try to snag a pair from WISH, but they won't be in long, so good luck to you.
Ok for some of you living under a rock who reads the blog, if you haven't even heard the new Kanye joint you really need to wake up. The song just hit iTunes a couple of days ago, and we are late posting this but we figured there might be a couple of you fools who missed it anyway. So get on it and get ready for a whole new Kanye. He is absolutely killin' it. You can download illegally but honestly you need to support this. Yeezy's back ladies and gents.
Sick track with B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco. Lupe kills it. This isn't a track for "Lasers", but anyway, we at KWT cannot wait for "Lasers". If everything drops this fall 2010 will be considered one of the best years in hip-hop. It'll be sick. Lupe is also lookin' fresh as hell, so check it...
Well Wiz and Spitta have been on a roll the last couple of days, and we at KWT cannot wait for Curren$y's "Pilot Talk" coming soon! Another good track coming off Ski Beatz's "24 Hour Karate School" Mixtape so get on it. The biggest stoners in the game are continuing their massacre on the hip hop game. Get at it.
With Cudder's new "REVOFEV" and Kanye's new "Power" it's only right they hit us with a hit together. The Kid's newest "Erase Me" featuring Kanye West is gonna be a radio jam, I guarantee it. I think it is kinda funny how a few days ago the "Cudder Quote of the Day" was “DREAM ON, we make shit for movies. not radio. sorry bout that.” Well congrats Moon Man, I think you might have just made a radio smash. Hit the link and get with it. Ohh and the official isn't out yet. It's just a radio rip. So hey G.O.O.D. Music, hit us with the official since we already got a taste of it. Mmmmk thanks.
