Two years ago a video circulated for this track from Jay Elect, but apparently it was an unofficial version, as the official (this one) finally sees the light of day. While the first version was more of a collage, this official video looks on as Jay Electronica explores Nepal while spittin' over a J. Dilla instrumental.

Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Lift Off" to Feature Beyoncé & Bruno Mars

Let's face it, "H·A·M" wasn't everything we hoped it would be, but fear not, Jay and Ye are still planning to release their collaborative album Watch The Throne after what seemed like a long enough hiatus to assume the project had dissolved away. Recently re-sparking the Watch The Throne interest was news regarding Hov and Yeezy's next single for the album that will be entitled "Lift Off" and will feature Beyoncé and Bruno Mars (why...ugh). Very random and unexpected feature in Bruno Mars, but whatever. Regardless, the single is rumored to dropping very soon. Let's hope so.

Odd Future's London Performance

The single is set to appear on his upcoming album #Section80. I'm really diggin' the "cliffhanger" at the end of this preview, and I'm definitely hyped for the entire visual to drop for this J. Cole produced banger.

Chiddy of Chiddy Bang Breaks Guinness Freestyle World Record

Chiddy from one of our favorite hip/hop duos Chiddy Bang broke the world record for the longest freestyle ever. The young MC broke the record after rapping for 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds. I checked in to the live feed at around Chiddy's 8th hour and he was still going strong. Makin' more sense and having better rhymes than any of these Shawt Bus Shawtys. LOL. #hatin'. But KWT is proud of the Team Swelly for pullin' through. Fans could tweet to Chiddy with the hashtag #rapworldrecord with suggestions of topics. Now I'm just lookin' for the download. I need this 9 hour freestyle on my iPod. Haha. And even after rapping for 9 hours, Chiddy still had enough energy to perform their new song "Manners". Watch out for the official version and the download on KWT. We will have it when it's available. Odd Future's Adult Swim Show Named "Blackass" (Prematurely)

A few weeks earlier Odd Future let loose of some info claiming they were about to receive their own Adult Swim show. For those of you living under a rock that's a television program for late night Cartoon Network. OF claimed it would be a mix between "Jackass" and "Chappelle's Show".  Anyway apparently during Adult Swim there was a commercial for the upcoming television program. Check the commercial for the upcoming show that Adult Swim is already calling, "Blackass." Tyler, The Creator claimed that show was not to be called "Blackass," so don't let that stick. I'm sure they will tie in OF somewhere in the title.

Coors Light's "Search For The Coldest" Tour Featuring N.E.R.D. & Pac Div

Coors Light has launched a four city mini-tour (supposedly more dates will be added in the future) entitled the "Search For The Coldest" tour and will feature N.E.R.D. and Pac Div. Turns out tickets can't be purchased, but rather won through radio stations, street teams, and local spots. We'll bring you more info when it circulates, but if this tour is coming to a city near you it's definitely a must see. Much props to PacDivDaily.

Odd Future to Start Independent Record Label Through Sony

After skyrocketing into popularity, Los Angeles hip hop collective Odd Future watched as multiple record companies fought to sign the group first. Perhaps the most appealing artists out right now, OFWGKTA has made it this far without help from any record labels. Until now. Although nothing is final,  the group's manager Christian Clancy confirmed that there is a deal in the works with Sony. I'm definitely lovin' this, as 88 is a KWT favorite and this shows why. As the intro shows, the vid's gotta NC-17 rating, so don't let the kids/parents see haha.

Black Hippy on MTV's "The New West"

Kendrick Lamar and his Black Hippy crew, which consists of fellow west coast emcees Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul, sit down with MTV during their weeklong series dubbed "The New West." Along with each of their own solo projects, such as Lamar's upcoming Section.80, the hip hop foursome is definitely poised to do some damage in the near future.

Kendrick Lamar x Dr. Dre Working on Section.80

I honestly wasn't a big fan of Kendrick Lamar right when O.D. came out and everyone was on his nuts. But as of late, I've started to come around on K.Dot, and I can definitely see why people were so hyped for this dude. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I am all over this "New West" music. It seems like all I'm bumpin' these days. Section.80 coming soon, and we can't wait. This preview highlights Kendrick in the studio with legend and cosigner Dr. Dre, who appears to have produced a few joints off the upcoming project.



Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV (Artwork)

Ok now for the most part when we (Twaan and I) have something "bad" to say about an artist we are usually somewhat in a disagreement over it. With Lil Wayne however, I think it's safe to say we both believe the New Orleans native has fallen off. At least as of late. Now I for one always use to bang The Carter 3. Hell, I loved it. Since he has came back with songs like "Gonorrhea" and "6'7" he has definitely sunk to the bottom with some of the artists I least respect. Now you may ask yourself, "Why are you telling us, LT? Why do you hate and then make a post about it?". Well I am doing so because some of you viewers are Wayne Heads. And since I love every single one of my viewers I wanted to post something would make a lot of you very happy. Which is, of course, Tha Carter IV's album artwork, with the album coming in June. I gotta give it to him though. I like that he is sticking with Tha Carter 3's look.

R.I.P. Guru (7/17/1961 – 4/19/2010)

Guru, rap legend and member of the classic hip hop duo Gang Starr, sadly passed away on Monday after a long battle against cancer. Although we weren't involved with hip hop music while Guru and Gang Starr were goin' hard back in the day, AKWT would like to make a tribute to this influential rapper, as everyone else even remotely involved with hip hop music should. Rest in peace, Guru, you will be missed and remembered. Check below for our favorite Gang Starr tracks. Nike Air Yeezy 2: Quick Looks

Kanye and Nike are about to release the second collabo from these two after the original Nike Air Yeezys. Still a little salty I've never scored a pair of the original black/pink colorway, so maybe they'll be a little easier to come by after the 2s are released. Doubt it. Anyway, we've only had a few looks at the Air Yeezy 2s, but what we've seen so far has sold us. Pretty much any sneaker with glow-in-the-dark outsoles would, but anything to do with Kanye has us sold. Curren$y Planning for Five Projects in 2011

Spitta told the good folks over at The Well Versed that he's planning five projects for this year alone, with the first being tomorrow's Covert Coup. Curren$y went on to say that he expected the roster to be made up of three albums and two mixtapes, stating that the mixtapes should hold fans over until the retail projects dropped. We love dope, new music. And we love it when there's a lot being released. That's why Da Hot Spitta is a definite KWT greatest hit. Wiz Khalifa's Coachella Performance

It's pretty sweet thinking I saw him just the night before. He completely rocked the show. The link added is basically his entire show that I saw the night before. If you get a chance to see the big time stoner and love Kush and OJ then I recommend going to a show. Mac was also sick as shit. Mac's performance made me an even bigger fan. Wish the two of them would have linked up for the couple of songs that they have together but they didn't. #KanyeShrug. Oh well... sorry for not having the actual vid on here, but they won't give out the embedded code.

Pusha T - "My God" (Video)

Pusha T and G.O.O.D. Music drop the visuals for the lead single from his recent solo mixtape Fear of God. Looks like his debut solo EP is slated for a June 21st release and will be titled Fear of God 2: Let Us Pray, which will be a re-release of Fear of God with added tracks not featured on the tape. Just as hyped for that as we were for the mixtape. YEUAGH!

KiD CuDi - "Creepers" (Acapella)

CuDi lets loose of an acapella performance of a new song called "Creepers". Probably the dopest sounding song I've heard from CuDi since he let loose of "CuDDerisback" after he dropped his debut album Man On The Moon: The End of Day. When this comes out remastered I think some of you that were unhappy with his last album Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, (Twaan) will be pleased with the G.O.O.D. Music artist once again. Haha.

Sir Michael Rocks - "Phone Numbers"

In what appears to be another track from his upcoming mixtape Premiere Politics, Sir Michael spits a freestyle over the only bearable song from Wiz's Cabin Fever project. Both Politics and The Cool Kids' When Fish Ride Bicycles are on the way.

Tyler, The Creator x Pharrell performance at Coachella

At their Coachella debut yesterday, Odd Future made quite a buzz when Pharrell came onstage to perform "Inside the Clouds" with Tyler, The Creator. Ronny My. A new addition to the iPod. This dude hit me up with a tweet telling us to check him out. Now most of the time when we get shit like this it's on some sort of wack shit. But as soon as the beat started I knew that even if the dude didn't deliver with lyrics that the beat was nice. But Ronny My does come through with some smoothness. This will definitely be getting a lot of plays by this dude. Check him out.

The buzz could not get any bigger about this project. At this rate we might have the whole mixtape before 4/20. Haha. Curren$y is definitely sticking to his roots, unlike what some might say about his counter part Wiz Khalifa. But Curren$y is seriously so g. We could probably do without the Freddie Gibbs feature. I don't know, I've just never felt his shit. #KanYeShruggin' Haha. Covert Coup. 4/20. Be ready.

Frank Ocean - "Static"

It seems everyone is all over Frank Ocean ever since his project Nostalgia, ULTRA dropped a while back. Yeah, and we are too. We love his smooth, crooning approach to the hip hop/R&B world. Looks like this track is from a while back when Frank was known as Lonny Breaux.

Sir Michael Rocks - "Bring It Back"

The Cool Kids' Mikey Rocks, known as Sir Michael Rocks when he's solo dolo, is as hot as ever right now. Just weeks after dropping his solo mixtape, The Rocks Report, dude is putting the finishing touches on The Cool Kids' upcoming When Fish Ride Bicycles and another solo project Premiere Politics. We've always been fans of Mikey ever since day one of his part as one of The Cool Kids, and he's still as dope as ever. Check his dopeness here with a freestyle over Travis Porter's recent single.

I thought I got this when I purchased the Deluxe Version of Cudi's MOTM II ? Guess it's a different version or the internets wouldn't be spazzin' about this. It appears as though Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper will be embarking on a tour soon under the moniker The Cud Life Tour, more info on that when it circulates. 

Outlook on The Office after the departure of Michael Scott

As most of you Scrantonites know, tonight marks the first of the three episodes that will be Michael Scott's final appearance on The Office (I am extremely salty and melancholy about this). Although Will Ferrell will be the immediate replacement, there are still lots of circulating questions regarding his permanence on the show. Vulture recently caught up with Paul Lieberstein, producer and actor in the hit series, to answer a few of these questions.

XV - "Famous" (feat. Jazmine Sullivan & Sez Batters)

Contrary to what a lot of blogs are saying, this track won't appear on XV's Zero Heroes mixtape, dropping this Friday. Crooner Jazmine Sullivan and Sez Batters (I don't know him) hook up with Vizzy on this track that The Kid With The Green Backpack produced himself. Via Twitter, XV and Sez Batters have confirmed that this track is due for the Sweet 16 mixtape, whatever that is.

Kendrick Lamar - "HiiiPoWeR" (prod. J. Cole)

For the first release from K.Dot's third album, Section80, Kendrick Lamar links up with KWT favorite J. Cole for the beat. After the amazing O.D., we're sure this project will be dope, and this track is proving it. Sorry to all you freeloaders, but this one's only available via purchase through iTunes. Worth it, support real hip hop.

Wiz Khalifa x Big Sean - Rolling Papers World Tour 2011

Due to the success of his Rolling Papers album (it reached 2nd on the charts), Wiz Khalifa will be performing on a 27 date tour called the Rolling Papers World Tour 2011. Joining will be (and this is MY favorite part) KWT favorite and G.O.O.D. Music's own Big Sean. Tickets will go on sale 4/20 (hilarious!), but for those who sign up on the Taylor Gang site they will be available tomorrow, 4/14. Opening for them will be special guest and fellow Taylor'd rapper, Chevy Woods. Hit the jump for dates and venues.

Curren$y - "Full Metal"

Curren$y links up with The Alchemist here for another release from 4/20's Covert Coup, which is entirely produced by said producer. After hearing the first two singles, it's safe to say I'm completely hyped for the album. And I'm not even a stoner. Haha, a little short, but still dopeness.

Beastie Boys - "Make Some Noise" x "Tadlock's Glasses"

We showed you the snippet of the 30 minute video the Beastie Boys would be releasing with their May 3rd album earlier, now here's the first single from Hot Sauce Committee Part 2. This song is so refreshing, as I love the old school vibe they're bringing (it was pretty obvious it'd have a retro-feel to it, being the Beastie Boys). Can't wait for the album and full vid to drop. Hit the jump to hear (sorry, no download) the second release from the album, "Tadlock's Glasses," which apparently is an ode to the trio's tour bus driver.
