Cudder, Cage, and Shia's short film is finally dropped in its entirety on Halloween. Directed by Sam Witwicky and starring both artists, the 10 minute short film was inspired by Cudi's Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager single of the same name. Sure to be some weird, creepy stuff.

Kids Wasting Rewinding Time: DJ Quik - "Tonite" (Video)

Classic. This has been LT's and my jam over the past couple weeks. Pretty random, we know. But KWT favorite project From The Westside With Love II was heavily influenced by DJ Quik, and Dom let's his listeners know it. He was "waitin' to hear Suga Free, Quik or 2Pac," which had us feelin' all nostalgic and whatnot, leading to the inevitable return of Quik's most bumpable joint, "Tonite." Dig it.

The Boy Illinois - Inhale, Pt. 4: Horai (Mixtape)

Been lookin' forward to this one for a while. The Boy Illinois gives us the fourth and final installment in his Inhale mixtape series with Part 4: Horai. If you're new to the Chicago MC, give him a chance, we guarantee you'll like what you hear. KWT Exclusive: KWT x 151 Feva Gang (Interview)

KWT promised you an interview, and we came through. Naturally. For those who aren't familiar, 151 Feva Gang is Dapper Don and Kherk Cobain, from Jersey. I won't go into too much detail, as I'll let them speak for themselves. Basically,  their specialty is smoking hella kush and making music for when you're in a wild, do-something-regrettable-and-wake-up-not-remembering-it kinda mood. They're not worried about being lyrical, they're in the business of making music to get all crazy and jam to. And turn up your purist nose at them, but everybody needs music to party to.  

If The Hangover 3 is filmed in Jersey, this is the type of music Alan will be getting fucked up to. Pacific Division gives us another cut from The DiV, which will hit iTunes on November 8th and, consequently, my iPod at exactly midnight. Featuring Asher Roth, "Useless" is the second joint Pac Div has given us from the project alongside the No I.D. produced "The Greatness." The DiV will be the trio's first album and celebrates their independence from Universal Records, from which the California group broke free from a couple months ago. Now Pac Div's back on their own shit, poised to make big moves in the hip hop game.

Making it Mainstream: The "Blog Rapper" Crossover Album

 November 1^st promises to be a very important day in rap lore, and it is rapidly approaching. It will be the day Wale brushes off the critics, puts on for MMG, and proves, once and for all, he can move units. Or at least, everyone with any stake in him hopes so. Ambition will be his second major label album, but truthfully, it'll just be attempt number 2 at the "Blog Rapper Crossover Album" (holy fucking mouthful).

The Blog Rapper Crossover Album is a relatively new phenomenon, a fresh take on an old challenge. And over the last few years, we have seen its genesis. The pioneers of this are the young men the mainstream was first introduced to on the cover of XXL's Freshmen '09 magazine. They are mapping out a blueprint that all future artists in the blog rap world will either follow, or take heed of. It has become a do-or-die stage in the natural progression of the modern artist.

We know what you're thinking..."Cudi's back! This is the best we've heard from dude in a long time!" Hold up. Here we have an unreleased cut from Cudder and frequent collaborator and producer Emile's first studio session together in 2007. Originally intended for Cudi's original Man On The Moon album, the track was leaked and subsequently forgotten. Now, four years later, the final version surfaces. I miss this. Let's hope Mr. Mescudi can achieve this type of sound again. No Wizard, please.


LT Update: You big Cudi fans like myself probably already have this downloaded as "Do It Alone". Cudi just throw away Wizard and put together a remastered version of all the unreleased. That would be wizard-like.

Pharrell's got a new label in the works entitled i am OTHER Entertainment, with 18 year old Compton native Buddy being his first signee. Buddy takes advantage of his situation, snagging a Neptunes beat for his first hit song "Awesome Awesome." After scoring a slot on HBO's How To Make It In America mixtape and, of course, Pharrell's cosign, Buddy is ready to burst upon the hip hop scene.

Remember when Cocaine 80s mysteriously dropped The Pursuit EP which featured the gem "Summer Madness" with Common? Today the No I.D. headed collective took a page right outta their own book, dropping another spontaneous project that is home to yet another Lonnie-assisted joint. We know, we know, not hip hop, but we've told you before...we post good music, and if it's outside of the hip hop genre we could care less. This time the homies and Illinois DJ duo Milk N Cookies shoot us their newest creation in their house remix of Adele's chart-topping single.  I'm not usually big into the whole electro/house/dubstep scene, but I can definitely mess with this. The Chicago bred, twin brother twosome are currently working on an EP that's slated for a release this winter. Soundtrack to a Long Ass Flight

I'll be on a plane tomorrow afternoon, final destination, the same time zone as home. Ain't that some shit? I'll refrain from telling you what flight I'm on and what I'll be wearing because there are some certified murderers reading KWT, but it's a super long ass flight (didn't you see the title??), and I haven't been home in a while. It won't be exactly like going home, which I imagine is going to be like nothing I've ever experienced before. Or something. It'll be my first true "Homecoming", as I've never been away this permanently. (You know what I'll be playing when I touch down. Yeezy taught me).

It'll be a mix of relief, happiness, and I imagine it'll provide me a little insight into how I've changed, because I can guarantee home will be the exact same. Friends and family to see, old wounds to either forget, or tear open again. Strange strange strange. But whatever, not going home yet. Just close. This isn't really an article, I just thought I'd let you in on what I'm throwing on the ol' iPod (it's a new Nano bitches, nothing old here) for the trip. Playlist after the jump.

Will Kanye West Only Find Redemption in Death?

Steve Jobs died last week, and within seconds of the announcement, the well-oiled celebrity death machine was kicked into motion. There were the tweets, the status updates, tributes, news specials, articles. All of it. Within hours, Jobs was forgiven of all sins, and had morphed into a deity, a modern day god. It has become a regular occurrence, a twisted, final rite of some pseudo celebrity religion. And with all the fuss Kanye caused at Occupy Wall Street this week, sorry #OccupyWallStreet, it begs the question: is death the only thing that will bring Kanye West redemption?

At this moment in time, the answer seems to be, unequivocally, yes.

Mac hit the 25K pre-order mark for his upcoming debut album Blue Slide Park surprisingly quickly, and, as he promised, celebrates the milestone by letting us all in on the album's title track and first single. I haven't been feelin' Malcolm as of late, and I'm still on the fence after giving this one a go. Although y'all may not know the name, a lot of you are definitely familiar with Polyester's work. As well as being a dope artist, dude is also one of the best producers doin' it out of the West Coast, and has been the man behind the boards for a number of your favorite young rappers like Dom Kennedy and Marz Lovejoy. To commemorate his birthday yesterday, Polyester dropped the music video to his hard hitting "WE$TSIDE WINE SIPPAZ," a track from his recent mixtape Somethin' Ta Creez To. 

Pac Div - The DiV (Artwork)

Earlier today, the trio let loose of their long awaited, No I.D. produced first single for their upcoming EP The DiV, which is slated for a November 8th iTunes release. Now Pac Div gives a face to the project by posting the EP's artwork via their new blog. Being one of the biggest #KnuckleHeadz on the planet, I am, needless to say, too hyped for this to drop. To be titled Lollipops & Politics, the singer-songwriter drops the project's first single, which features Philadelphia's own Chiddy of the KWT favorite group Chiddy Bang. Drake's Take Care Pushed Back to November 15th

I know LT and TS are going to be deeply affected by this...but sample clearance issues for Drizzy are resulting in the release of his forthcoming sophomore album Take Care being delayed a little less than a month. Head down bottom to see what Drake himself had to say about these happenings.

"The new date for Take Care is November 15th, 2011. I managed to create this album in my hometown of Toronto and the thoughts and stories I wanted to get across just became so clear. It truly felt like when I was here 3 years ago making So Far Gone. So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date. My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it. The choice was clear as day for me. November 15th you will get Take Care the exact way I created it with no trimmings. This music means too much to me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together. Club Paradise Tour will also be moved to when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools. New dates will be released in the next week...see you all soon."

Wale - "Focused" (feat. Kid Cudi) [Single Artwork]

Officially slated for an October 18th iTunes release is Wale's "Focused," featuring Kid Cudi. Thanks to them recently squashing their beef, the two will appear on a track together for the first time since Cudi's "Is There Any Love," which featured Mr. Folarin and appeared on Cudder's debut album. Let's hope Wale gives us a chance to hear this one a little early. Either way, Ambition hits shelves November 1st.
