Nick Fury - "Furious"

Soon to be on the newest regular to the KWT mix, Nick Fury gives us some bars over Nas' classic "One Mic". I think a lot of you hip hop heads would agree that it's pretty ballsy to jump on a beat that Nas put down to but I feel that Young Fury did the track justice. Make sure to hit the link below and grab the dude's mixtape.

The 2 Of Diamonds - "A Million Bars" (Freestyle)

The 2 Of Diamonds' own Dee Rush hops on the classic Jigga beat for the Chicago duo's first release from their upcoming 30 For 30 project. Over 30 days, Dee and Boogie recorded 30 tracks, all to be compiled and released to the masses on December 1st. 2OD is definitely one of our favorite upcoming hip hop groups, so we're cheesin' pretty hard for this one.

Soul Khan - "Someone's Pocket" (prod. Audible Doctor)

Soul Khan's Pursuance EP hits shelves on December 6th, but in the meantime he gives us track number 2  from the project. Featuring a smooth, soulful backdrop from Audible Doctor and Soul's trademark flow, the EP's first single definitely doesn't disappoint. With the production duties assigned entirely to Audible Doctor, Pursuance's tracklist can be found after the click.

Kooley High - "Big Headed" (feat. DJ Pr!nce) [Video]

Kooley High's newest album, David Thompson, drops December 6th, and here's another jam from it, visual style. Head on over to iTunes now to pre-order the project now.

The Throne at Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (Video)

Tonight's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (ooh la, la) featured performances from a few big artists, most notably Kanye and Jay-Z, who rocked their superhit "N*ggas In Paris." Just once this time.

Nick Fury - Not Your Average Day Job (Mixtape)

I don't usually handle the music submissions around here, but on a whim, I checked them out tonight, and I was in luck. I found myself hooked by Not Your Average Day Job, a new mixtape from Nick Fury, an artist I've never heard of. Admittedly, it's not the most search engine friendly name, but from his Reverb Page, I found out Nick is from Woodbridge, Virginia. He acquired the moniker when he was 14 years old, as a nickname from his godfather, and he describes his music as New Age. Which works quite well for me.

In an age of internet accessibility, where no matter what you sound like, someone somewhere will dig your shit, I think Nick has a great chance at success. Which isn't to say he isn't dope. I  think he is. I think he's very dope.

His flow seems clunky at first, but then you realize it's actually just different, and chill as fuck. His voice is dark and deep, and originates in his throat. Nick rumbles through songs quickly, bypassing hooks entirely on some occasions, his wordplay full of slick similes, everyday insights, vicious insults and swagged out boasts. It all happens over some pretty catchy soundscapes, with baselines that slap and wiggle along, accompanied by soaring horns. It's definitely music you can vibe out to, and fits in very well with today's lo-fi rap movement. Honestly, with a little more exposure, Nick is one of those rappers who could have a rabid cult following. Give him a listen below, and grab the tape if you're interested.

Rap Club: November 29th

Welcome to the inaugural entry of the "Rap Club". If you don't like the name, suck it. It works because it ties into the idea of a book club, where members pick a book, go away, digest it, then convene to discuss it. But this ain't a book club, bitch, it's a rap club. Pardon me, the "Rap Club". So instead of gathering around a fireplace, eating biscuits and discussing literature, we'll talk rap. At the computer. Through our keyboards. Biscuit eating is optional.

Honestly, I have no idea what the future holds for "Rap Club", or even if it holds anything at all. Buuuut, if people are interested and involved, I think this could be pretty cool. Basically, I'll throw some stuff out (it won't always be current shit) for you to check out. It's gonna be pretty low-key, pretty informal. I'm not going to go into great detail about any sort of criteria for what I'll be presenting. You'll understand better once I start offering up stuff to be checked out. It'd be cool if this could be a sort of dialogue, with people contributing interesting stuff or insight in the comments. Or you can email me or tweet me stuff you want included in the next edition of "Rap Club".

If you should be studying (like I should be) this might make for a pretty great time waster. *awkwardly work in some sort of tie-in about Kids Wasting Time* (continued after the jump...)

Skeme - Before My Next Statement (Mixtape)

Skeme lets us in on the artwork and tracklisting for Before My Next Statement, just hours before the project drops some time today. Hit the jump to give the tracklist a look. Twaan Update: As promised, Skeme comes through with the free download, which can be snagged below.

Hoodie Allen - Tour Life (Episode 1)

Hoodie Allen, camera crew and all, embarked on his first national headlining tour this past summer, making stops all across the country. To give us glimpse of what the tour life is like, Hoodie will be releasing a three part video series, and today he gives us episode one.

Make This One a Double: RIP Patrice O'Neal

Never the healthiest dude around, Patrice O'Neal passed away this morning from complications due to a heart attack last month. Sad, sad stuff. Like a lot of people, I'd never heard of him until his breakout performance at the Roast of Charlie Sheen. I watched the special, then spent the next hour and a half voraciously watching whatever Youtube clips I could find of the guy.

If you haven't seen his performance at the roast, do watch it. His fellow roasters went after him harder than he thought they would, and he had to come up with more brutal material to slap them back into place. It's truly hilarious. I don't know a lot about him, but I know he was very, very funny, and brought smiles to the faces of a lot of people. O'Neal was 41. Rest in paradise Patrice.

The 10 Best OFWGKTA Moments (Part 1)

2011 has been a great year to break into the hip hop scene. We have witnessed some of rap's future superstars make their first widespread imprint on the genre. Whether it be through the help of record deals and star cosigns or through independent movements and internet domination, the past year has been home to undeniable rises to fame for some deserved and undeserved young talents.

Although some would claim they belong in the undeserved category, a list of artists to blow up recently would not be complete without LA hip hop collective Odd Future. A dozen members deep, all ranging from the ages of 17-23, OFWGKTA, with their startling, sometimes offensive, yet extremely effective content is the hip hop genre's version of shock advertising.

Update: The 10 Best OFWGKTA Moments (Part 2) | (Part 3)

A$AP Rocky - "Demons" (Video)

One of LiveLoveASAP's standout tracks is given an accompanying video. Pick up the thoroughly dope project for free right here at KWT. Sidenote: Rocky made his directorial debut yesterday when Danny Brown's "Blunt After Blunt" video dropped, directed by A$AP himself.

Zak Downtown - "Rock The Show" (feat. Hoodie Allen)

We always love new Hoodie Allen bars, but this time around, Hoodie's lending his vocals for a track from the NYC native Zak Downtown. Making his first appearance on KWT alongside a seasoned veteran, Downtown chose the right dude for a guest slot on this catchy, feel-good track that will appear on forthcoming December 1st mixtape, Downtown Delinquents.

JSWISS - Cool Grey (EP)

Featured on KWT for the first time is 20 year old, NYC native JSWISS, who now attends UNC in Chapel Hill, NC. Here we have JSWISS's most recent project, Cool Grey, a 6 track EP that even features some production by the New York product himself. Making moves on the east coast, JSWISS has shared the stage with such hip hop acts as Big K.R.I.T. and Actual Proof while always continuing to improve both lyrically and behind the boards. Preview the project's intro below, and head over to dude's band camp where you can purchase this worthy EP for only $1.

Tris J - "Rack Up" (feat. Sir Michael Rocks) [prod. Cardo]

You may recognize Tris J from verse two of Mikey's "Too Short Back," the track that was just given the visual treatment from The Cool Kid's most recent tape Premier Politics. Anyway, Tris J and Sir Michael link up again, this time over a smooth Cardo produced beat. You'll find this one on Tris'sdebut project, Trisworld, slated for a New Year's Eve release.

Casey Veggies x LRG - New Era Snapback (Video)

Mr. Vegetables has linked up with Lifted Research Group to bring us the Casey Veggies x LRG New Era Snapback. Officially released today, the hats will only be sold throughout Casey's stint on Mac Miller's Blue Slide Park Tour, which ends December 9th. If you can't make it to a show, however, head over to Young Veggies' online store to cop the snapback for just $30. This kid just continues to make all the right moves.

B.o.B - E.P.I.C (Mixtape)

Bobby Ray's latest offering, E.P.I.C (Every Play is Crucial), has arrived. This kinda snuck up on me, but it's a wonderful surprise. Coincidentally, I was bumping No Genre last night. That tape was so solid, so I have high expectations.

The feature list is CRAY too. Em, Meek Mill, Wayne, K.R.I.T, TI, Mos Def, Bun B, 2 Chainz and more. Download link and tracklist after the jump.

Izzie Fareal - 911: Who The Hell Izzie?!? (Mixtape)

A$AP Rocky - ThisIs50 Interview

I feel like a lot of you KWTers still aren't hip to A$AP...

Tinie Tempah - "Like It Or Love It" (feat. J. Cole & Wretch 32)

Tinie Tempah gets the North Carolina native and an unknown (to KWT) Wretch 32 to grace his latest. Not going to lie, I'm posting strictly cause of the Cole verse. This one is from Tinie's upcoming project Happy Birthday.

Sir Michael Rocks - "Too Short Back" (feat. Shorty K & Tris J) [Video]

Mikey steps up and gives us another video from his most recent mixtape, Premier Politics. If you're like us, you're always chomping at the bit for some new Sir Mike. While we are unaware of a future solo project, you can expect to hear him on a few JETS joints on Spitta's label's November 29th compilation album.

Lupe Fiasco - Friend Of The People: I Fight Evil (Mixtape)

Looks like Lupe is a fan of Thanksgiving mixtapes. Last year, he gave us the still-in-rotation Enemy Of The State, and he returns this time around with a brand new offering with Friend Of The People: I Fight Evil. This one sure came out of nowhere...we didn't see this coming, the hip hop experts didn't see this coming, I'm not even sure if Lupe saw this one coming. Who cares, though? You know it's gonna go hard. Preview the tape's "Lightwork" and grab the project below, while the tracklist can be found after the jump.

Happy Thanksgiving 2011, KWTers

Before shoving copious amounts of home cooking, including, but not limited to, both white and dark portions of our feathery fan below, into my pie hole (pun intended), we at KWT wanted to dedicate this post day of thankfulness to the artists, our fans, and our viewers. Without you, KWT wouldn't' be here.

So grab a turkey leg and enjoy the holiday knowing that the Kids are thankful for each and every one of you. We've got some big ideas in the making for the near future, so check back early and often for some exclusive interviews, lists, and projects that are sure to be sweeter than cranberry sauce.

Watch some behind the scenes footage as Kydd and the west coast trio shoot the video for the joint, entitled "Now & Then." You (should've, get on it, lames) heard the final product, but now go behind the scenes with Illi over the past four months and get an inside look at the making of the fourth installment of his Inhale mixtape series. SkyBlew - "Excuse My Lateness" (Video)

Speaking of NC, up next from the Tar Heel State is Chapel Hill native SkyBlew. Here goes the dude's hilariously dope visual for "Excuse My Lateness," a standout track from his latest project Above The Stars Is My Landing. After creating a buzz through his music and sharing the stage with some of hip hop's rising stars (Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y), SkyBlew is poised to become a household name heading into 2012.

How Swizz Beatz Nearly Ruined Everything

The run-up to Kanye's masterful My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was historic to say the least. There was a movie, interview flame-outs, diamond-teeth reveals, some of the greatest Tweets you'll ever read, faked Walmart bans and incredible music. The music, dropped off every Friday, was an oral aural treat to the fans. Of the many songs (which would have made a great album by themselves), Yeezy gave us some undeniable classics, and absolutely set the internet ablaze. It was an ingenious marketing strategy, and has since become very popular.

Many of the songs were decadent orgies of indulgence, that somehow not only worked, but showed that Kanye on the comeback trail was better than ever. One of these songs, was "Lord Lord Lord", an epic opus featuring great verses from Ye, Raekwon the Chef and Mos Def, three of hip-hop's elite. Sandwiched in the middle of all those verses, was an offering from Swizz Beatz. A curious offering, simply because the second it's over you have to fight the temptation to saw your ears off.

Drake's Take Care Will Be Number 1

It's a bit under where I projected, but the early reports indicate Drake will open at Number 1 this week with 659k sold. That's a lot of fucking albums. It will be his second number one album, and the second highest opening week by a solo rap act this year.

He'll bump Mac Miller off the top slot. What do you guys think? Higher or lower than you projected? How do you feel about the album? Let us know, as always, in the comment section.

The 10 Best Subliminals of 2011 (So Far) #2 & #1

Ladies and gentlemen, KWT has arrived at the final installment of "The 10 Best Subliminals of 2011 (So Far)". The countdown to this moment has featured shots from underground kings, living legends, seasoned veterans, and some of rap's biggest and brightest stars. To cap it off, we present #2 & #1, the ultimate showdown. It's two icons of the rap game, and it just so happens they are the two responsible for the majority of the subliminals on this list.

Get caught up with #10 - #7 and #6 - #3, then hit the jump for the preamble, and #2 & #1. Everything that has a beginning, has an end.

Must Download: Z-Ro - 5200

KWTers, for our latest installment of "Must Download", I offer up Z-Ro, Houston legend, and one of the most underrated rapper alive. He is a god of southern rap, but sadly, mainstream adulation, or even widespread blog love, has eluded him over the course of his illustrious career.

His discography is huge, and can be a messy, impenetrable wall for newcomers. Thus, allow me to take your hand (no Sandusky) and guide you to a very excellent entry point in your education of the life and times of Z-Ro. (continued after the jump...)

Common - "Celebrate" (prod. No I.D.)

Another one circulates from Common's 9th studio album, The Dreamer, The Believer, slated for a December 20th release. The project's production was handled entirely by No I.D., so you know who was on the boards for this one. Album's looking solid, pumped for this one. No download, sawwy,

J. Cole Covers RESPECT. Magazine

J. Cole just keeps getting more and more RESPECT. Haha, since it's the dude Elliott Wilson's mag, you know I had to throw in a RapRadar pun in our post. Be sure to grab this issue when it hits newsstands on November 29th, and give Jermaine's album a purchase right here at KWT.

Drake's Take Care to Open to Huge Numbers

Let that boy cook! Drizzy's Take Care is expected to open to somewhere between 675k and 725k, which would be the third biggest first week sales of the year, behind Wayne and Gaga. Very impressive.

I haven't even got my copy yet, KWTers. You know I said fuck a leak, but I have an exam tomorrow, so I held off on purchasing. Once I get my hands on it, all I'll be doing is bumping it front to back for days.

The 10 Best Subliminals of 2011 (So Far) #10 - #7

It’s been an incredible year for rap. Albums from all of its biggest stars. Mixtapes we should’ve been forced to pay for. The emergence of bright young stars who promise to lead and shape rap for years to come.
.

Amidst all of this excellence, there has been the typical tension among rappers. It’s a competitive game, one where you’re trying to get as high as you can, while simultaneously attempting to stop your peers from doing so. However, this might be the least true it’s ever been, this year. It’s a world of cosigns and Pro Tools-enabled features, where a collaboration is just one click away. It’s all about visibility, about being accessible, so guys reach across subgenres and regional styles to try to find as many listeners as possible. Competition might actually be dying out. But it’s still got legs. This year, its biggest source has been two guys who decided to coronate themselves at the end of 2010 and in doing so pissed off a lot of people. This maneuver is responsible for a lot of the entries on our Top 10 list. (continued after the jump, with numbers 10 through 7...)

Steve Cantrell - "The Welcome Mat" (Video)

It's very unfortunate, but y'all are sleeping on The Freedom Fighters. They just keep steadily putting out dope music, videos, and projects. Haven't heard a bad one yet. This time around, it's the homie Steve Cantrell with a visual from his most recent project Are We There Yet? Vol. II, which is available now. Hit the link below to snag the project, and stay tuned for dude's upcoming project, Step Towards Darkness.

Rapsody - For Everything (Album)

Just months after Rapsody dropped her classic Thank H.E.R. Now mixtape, the North Carolina native drops yet another project in For Everything. Featuring production from 9th Wonder, Khrysis, and more, and with guest slots from Kendrick Lamar, Freeway, and others, Rapsody definitely knows how to collaborate. Preview the album's 9th Wonder produced "Butter Soft Timbs" below and head to DJBooth to snag that free download. Spitta's holding down that hardest working MAN in hip hop, but I think we may have just found the female version. Tracklist after the jump.

Wale - "Lotus Flower Bomb" (feat. Miguel) [Video]

Thanks to pushing 164K (congrats, Mr. Folarin, we proud) in his first week with Ambition, Wale will be bagging dimes like this for a long while now.  Watch him do his thing in video for the album's single below.

David Dallas - "Ain't Coming Down" (feat. Buckshot) [Video]

The deluxe version of David Dallas's classic mixtape The Rose Tint, now an album, is available for purchase now via iTunes. Strongly recommend opening your mind up and grabbing this.

Iggy Azalea - "My World" (Video)

The bombshell comes through with the video for "My World", off her mixtape Ignorant Art. I'm sure by this time next year summer she'll have huge buzz. It's all so inevitable. Cool video though. Leave a comment too. It's a Tuesday, and I need comments.

Justin W. - "Something I Said" (Video)

No clue about this new artist... I like what I hear though. For more check here.

Common - "Sweet" (Video)

Chiddy Bang - "Ray Charles"

We've been hearing about the Philly duo Chiddy Bang's debut album Breakfast for a while now without any sign of the LP progressing toward a release. However, today Chiddy and Xaphoon swelly out their fans with "Ray Charles," a single from the album as well as a final release date in February 28th, 2012. Sorry, no download, but stream the track below and head over to iTunes for the purchase.

Curren$y - "Luxury Sport" (feat. Sir Michael Rocks)

Curren$y and now-fellow-JET Lifer Sir Michael Rocks rock one over the classic Ghostface Killah beat. Seeing as hip hop is a copycat game, Spitta's label JETS International will be following in the footsteps of Maybach Music and a few others in releasing Jet World Order, a compilation album, on November 29th. Although this one surely won't be featured due to the non-original production, we're still diggin' hearing Mr. Andretti and Mikey on one track. Needless to say, we're amped for the album.

GhostWridah - No Apologies (Tracklist)

What the fuck, my blog game has been weak the last few days. I'm coming with some writtens, I swears. Furthermore, check out the homie LT's Tumblr, it's dope. I should be writing an essay, but I'm coming to you with the tracklist for GhostWridah's No Apologies. The guy is killing everything he touches lately, so you know this will be a huge follow-up to American Alien. Should be dropping 2011. No artwork yet.

Damn, reading that list got me so hyped. I can't wait for this. Not a lot of features, which is dope, because I love hearing Ghost on his own. Jase is on one of the songs, and they always make audio dope together. If this shit is on Bandcamp I'll be spending the cash. Tracklist after the jump. Features from Cam, Tweet and Jase, with production rumored to handled in some part by Dr. Dre...

Chip Tha Ripper - "Low Key"

Chip releases another one that should appear on his upcoming mixtape Tell Ya Friends, slated to drop soon. As always, the Cleveland representer picks out a laid back beat and rocks with it. We can vibe to this one, and with previous releases like "25 Wives" and "Crime," this project's lookin' good.

XV - "Awesome" (Video)

"Awesome," a track that's just that and appeared on Vizzy's classic mixtape Everybody's Nobody, finally gets the visual treatment after years of releasing new material, including a remix to "Awesome" featuring Pusha T, which can be found on his latest offering Zero Heroes. Just like we figured, it appears XV's got a new project in the works, and with all the quality music he's been putting out lately, we're in for a treat. Something sounds different about this beat. Anyone agree?

Notorious B.I.G. Has Soothing Effect on Crying Baby

Those of you baby momma/baby daddy KWT viewers will find this one extra interesting, and perhaps even helpful, satisfying your maternal urges as well as your love for hip hop. Parents who claim they've tried everything to get their baby to "just shut the hell up already," need to think outside the box a little. A perfect example is this dude, who somehow came across a rather unique way to calm down his crying infant....

"WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!?" Probably because 12 seconds of Biggie's music contains no less than 8 references to weed, pussy, glocks, kush, tits, gats... you get the picture. Not that I don't like this idea. I'd be lying if I said Biggie's smooth, baritone, John Coffey-esque voice hasn't completely chilled me out before. With that being said, he's got a couple years to continue this tactic until daddy picks up little Lucy from kindergarten only to find the teacher complaining that she spent the entire day mad question askin', blunt passin', and music blastin'. Thanks pops.

Asher Roth - "Common Knowledge" (prod. Blended Babies)

The bro dude Asher Roth gives us a look and a listen into his upcoming mixtape Pabst & Jazz by officially releasing both the artwork and lead single "Common Knowledge." This track and apparently a large chunk of the project were produced by Chicago production team Blended Babies, who have been absolutely killing it on the boards as of late. Mixtape hits soon, until then, rock with this.

Blu gives us NoYork!'s second set of visuals with his U-God assisted joint "DoinNothin'." Being the #Knucklehead that I am, I obviously prefer the posse joint version featuring Pac Div, U-N-I, TiRon, Ayomari and a few more left coast cats but this'll do just fine. Think this is a little strange? Then you have a thing or two to learn about the California emcee.

John West - "Already There" (feat. Big Sean)

John West has already let loose of a few tracks with some of our favorite hip hop artists, so we're not surprised to see this collaboration between the Louisiana crooner and Big Sean. Stream only for now, as West is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut album, which is set to offer some big name features.

Steve Cantrell - "Crowd Control: The Escape" (prod. THX)

#FreedomFighter Steve Cantrell comes through with another tough one in "Crowd Control: The Escape." Produced by THX, this joint serves as Steve's first single for his upcoming project Step Towards Darkness. If you're not down with Sir Cantrell and the Freedom Fighters, you're late. #FistHigh.

Theophilus London - "Love Is Real" (feat. Holly Miranda) [Video]

Track 2 from Mr. London's debut album Timez Are Weird These Days is visualized in the form of a Theophilus-less love story. It'd probably be a good idea to pick up the album RIGHT NOW.

Will Effe - Do Well (Mixtape)

Introducing @WillEffe, a 19 year old MC and Orlando, Florida native who's been creating some hype ever since the release of his project, Do Well. Will Effe will add another classic to his repertoire when he drops his mixtape Subweigh: Heavy Nights & Heavy Eyes, which he's hard at work on now, in December. A story of "Love, Life and Lights," Do Well features 16 tracks that can be streamed and downloaded for free after the jump.

Murs - "S-K-I-B-E-A-T-Z" (feat. Locksmith) [Video]

Murs and Locksmith, who are both boasting projects produced exclusively by Ski Beatz, give us the ode to the New York producer (which can be found on Murs' Love & Rockets album) in video form.

Rapsody - "A Crush Groove" (prod. 9th Wonder) [Video]

Despite her incredibly dope Thank H.E.R. Now mixtape dropping just a few months back, North Carolina femcee Rapsody is gearing up to release her next project, For Everything, on November 15th. "Black Girl Jedi" and 9th Wonder made a great team before, and now we're getting a taste that proves they've still got it.

Must Download: Main Attrakionz - 808s and Dark Grapes II

I know, I know, this came out years ago in Internet time (really just August). Fuck you, and fuck that. A great project is not simply discarded because it's been out for a few months. And yes, I am calling this mixtape, the most recent work from the duo of Squadda B and MondreM.A.N, great.

I've been listening to this project non-stop for weeks, and I simply can't stop. Both MCs are raw, energetic guys from Oakland. Neither are supremely talented on the mic, but they are also not slouches. They dish out clever rhymes, and both of their deliveries are charismatic and powerful. You can feel how passionate they are, how important it is to them to tell their story, and you begin to realize the ceiling for these two may be out of this world. I don't want to get hyperbolic, but when I listen to their blunted, odd ball sound, it feels like a glimpse at genius. (continued after the jump...)

Kid Cudi - "To Da Top" (Unreleased)

Old unreleased Cudi is always winning over here. All of his new stuff well... I can go without. Please get back to your old sound, Cudder. It's jams like this from the Moon Man that makes us quite sad. This shit cray. Yea Cud was on that shit.

Pac Div - The DiV (Deluxe Version) [Tracklist]

Dropping tonight at midnight is Pac Div's debut album, The Div. Released a few days back was the project's tracklist, but today we catch wind of the three extra tracks that will show up on the deluxe version only as well as the production credits for each joint. Stay tuned for a purchase link as soon as the calendar graces November 8th. Too amped for this one, and I know my #Knuckleheadz agree.

Shawn Chrystopher - "The Credits" (Video)

Shawn Chrys's Silent Films For The Blind track is visualized. Said project is a must have for KWT.

Pusha T - "Changing Of The Guards" (feat. Diddy)

Just two days before the follow up to his first solo mixtape drops, Pusha gives us one of very few unheard tracks from the project, as most that will land on Fear Of God 2 are recycled from the original.

Hodgy Beats - "CRAP" (feat. Left Brain)

For the first release from his forthcoming mixtape ROCK/SLAB, grabs his MellowHype and OF counterpart Left Brain to rock bars over the Hodgy produced beat. Keep posted for a release date for the project, but, until then, you can grab MellowHype's debut album BlackenedWhite now.

Childish Gambino - "Heartbeat"

Donald gives us a second release from his upcoming November 15th album, Camp. This one's a little strange, but I'm diggin' it a lot more than "Bonfire." Personally pretty amped for this project.

The Ten Most Regular Guy Boasts from Cole World: The Sideline Story

People love J. Cole. For a lot of reasons. And not just because of the recently (to my knowledge) unveiled, awesome picture of Cole as a child, who notably looks identical to grown-up Cole. He's got the seriousness, the intensity, everything. It is in no way difficult for me to imagine young Cole lamenting to his boys that his seven-year old girlfriend won't get an abortion.

One of the major reasons Cole is loved the way he is, is because of how, in many cases, it is very easy to relate to his music. He spoke in an interview about not wanting too much lingo from his newfound fame to seep into his lyrics for the first album (words like Audemar, other-other Benz). Hopefully, as the money piles up, he doesn't move away from talk everyday folk can relate to. But if he does, KWT has you covered with "The Ten Most Regular Guy Boasts from Cole World: The Sideline Story". Hit the jump for the list.
