Ballin' Line of the Week: Childish Gambino

Donald Glover: actor, comedian, producer, and rapper. The "Community" star has branched his talents into the rap world, from his first mixtape release in 2010 to his debut album Camp. Armed with a writing degree and a rapping name from a Wu-Tang name-generator, Gambino drops some sick rhymes, including this basketball reference..

Hit the jump to see what the line is, what song it's from, and what it means...

"Love is a trip, but fuckin' is a sport
Are their Asian girls here? Minority Report
Put your team on the map, Blake Griffin on the court
Niggas bitin' off my tracks, need a knife and a fork."

From the song "Freaks and Geeks," Gambino basically describes that love is a journey, but sex is just for fun. He then asks if there are any Asian girls where he is, furthering the notion that he has a fetish for Asian women (see "You See Me"). Minority Report was a 2002 film starring Tom Cruise, but Gambino uses it to describe Asian women, who are a minority in the US population. Then the basketball reference comes in, as Gambino says that he put himself and others close to him on the map, similar to what Blake Griffin did when he was drafted by the LA Clippers, making them relevant again with his aerial acrobatics after years of being misguided by the horrible Donald Sterling. He then finishes off by saying that some rappers are taking ideas from his songs (biting off his tracks).
