I'm not sure why or how to explain it, but I've always really enjoyed Gorillaz's music. And it's not just because they're so interesting and mysterious, I'm in it for the sounds. Naturally, when the (now 3D) cartoon group teamed up with 3Stacks I had no choice but to mess with it. Two artists who should have been featured in this year's XXL Freshmen list (although Chip denied the look) link up to release this jam that boasts a Killa Cam sample. I thought for sure XXL would get at least a few of them right this year...but again, I was wrong. Danny Brown is just about the only one I fully agree with, but we'll save these thoughts for another post.

Bobby Ray is looking to get that chart success without any white indie-pop singers this time around, though he's still working with hit-makers. The producer is Ryan Tedder in this case, who has produced for Adele, Demi Lovato, Far East Movement, Hillary Duff, and more that might make you wrinkle your nose. All we can do is wait and see if it ends up being a hit.

Like are these motherf*ckers comatose 2011? Do they not listen to muisc? They didn't notice J. Cole? Like Jim Jones, Maino, Lloyd Banks, Jeezy, Jada, French Montana and MOTHERF*CKING Red Cafe are hotter than J. Cole? That's brain-dead levels of idiocy. I'm getting angry just thinking about it. F*ck, I'm getting angry just thinking about people liking Red Cafe. 

As you can see, I am of the opinion MTV is a worthless shit-hole, and their list is irrelevant. Still, when they put Jay-Z at #6, I found myself wondering.

Wiz Khalifa Apologizes For Rolling Papers in Letter to Fans

Anyone who knows me is well aware of how I felt about Wiz's debut album Rolling Papers, and if not, then it's probably safe to say I felt the same as most of you (excluding my favorite TGOD member, LT). The pop heavy production featured on the 2011 album was far from what made me a Wiz fan in the first place, alienating myself, and undoubtedly thousands of other OG Taylor Gangers. It did earn steady radio play, but in a world where stations proudly and religiously bump "Stupid Hoe," a sway to a radio-friendly style is not what his true fans are looking for.

On Tuesday, the Wizzle Man sat down and wrote a letter to his fans regarding everything from the Taylor Gang movement to his music to his clothing style, admitting Rolling Papers was a mistake and promising fans the projects he's got on deck to be aimed at the TGOD fans rather than the numbers. As a proud supporter of everything pre-Cabin Fever era, this excites me. Wiz's Taylor Allerdice mixtape and sophomore album O.N.I.F.C. coming soon. Let's hope they're on that Kush & OJ vibe. LT and I saw him in StL a few months back...honestly one of the dopest shows I've ever seen, and Dom's always crazy humble and mellow, meeting and signing autographs for all in attendance.

KWT is widening our horizons. Along with the heavy dose of hip hop music we bring you daily, we're aiming to start getting more involved in the sports, style, and kicks game as well. It feels good, it feels healthy, you should try it. To keep this trend going, I'll be starting a new, daily (make that WEEKDAYS only) segment that features the previous night's most impressive sports highlight in my mind.



To be posted early every weekday morning, we think it's a great way for our viewers to kick off their adventures, endeavors, and anything and everything the ensuing day should bring them. Don't expect this Fastbreak title to stick, but it's all I could think of on the spot. Anyway, with our inaugural post comes highlight from last night's Raptors vs. Wizards game (yeah, it was that boring of a night in sports). KWT Exclusive: KWT x Iggy Azalea (Interview)

KWTers, we are back with another exclusive interview. This time around, we chatted with Iggy Azalea, the buzzing female MC who has been making headlines over the label bidding war that recently ended with her inking with Interscope. She's currently in the process of working on her debut major retail album, The New Classic. At the moment, not much is known about the project, except that TI will be executive producing it.

Highly underrated in my book, DJ Quik epitomizes smooth, and there's not a better artist to bump while cruising on those warm summer nights with the windows down (an activity of which I'll be giving you more insight soon). Damn...that sounds nice *reaches for nearest blanket*

Super Bowl XLVI: Giants vs. Patriots

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday, home to the most important NFL game of the season and one of the most televised events of the year. This year, Super Bowl XLVI (that's 46 for you non-Air-Jordan collectors) features the NFC number four seed New York Giants squaring of against the AFC number one seed New England Patriots in a very intriguing "rematch" of 2007's Super Bowl XLII.

The Giants, after a roller coaster regular season that culminated with a playoff berth thanks to an atrocious NFC East, are officially 3 point underdogs to the Patriots, who finished 13-3 to dominate the AFC East and to tie the 49ers and Saints for the second best record in the league, but many feel the G-Men are the hotter team going into the matchup. #DRAKEWEEK Using Hindsight to Unfairly Slander Pitchfork's So Far Gone Review

Pitchfork is a modern day cultural landmark, a fucking internet titan, so powerful and popular that its influence is felt outside of the internet. Of course, along with this popularity, has come its fair share of infamy. It's been a lightning rod for criticism over the years, for the writing of its reviews, its hip-hop content, hipster attitude, etc. I often enjoy reading the reviews, to be honest, but please don't crucify me. I only read the hip-hop ones, and though I don't always agree with them and I'm often frustrated by them, it's an interesting perspective. It gives you a look at the culture and music you love through the Ray-Ban shaded eyes of the hipster populace. In this way, it's worth reading.

But still, sometimes their rap reviews rub me the wrong way. Which is why, I'll be using the luxury of hindsight to look back at their review of So Far Gone, and unfairly slander them in honor of #DRAKEWEEK. Under the jump, we continue.
