Mix Appeal: Keith Frazier

This week's best mix comes from 6'5" guard Keith Frazier, an uncommitted player hailing from Dallas, Texas, who throws down and has extremely deep range. This mixtape looks a lot like that of Austin Rivers', with a couple fewer dunks though.

Hit the jump to check out this talented player's junior mixtape...

Pusha T vs Lil Wayne, and Which Crew is Running Rap

Well, well, well, the jabbing paddy-cake continues with diss records and tweets and all sorts of tomfuckery. Are we surprised (If you need to catch up, there's a great list here.) We must do our due diligence as spectators to all this competing, and ask ourselves where are our heads at? Are we considering all the angles, and noting successes and failures?

I get it popping about this type of shit, under the hood.

Dom Kennedy - "Hip Hop Nation Freestyle" (Prod. Troy Noka)

Monte Carlo - #Food4Thought: A Closed Mind, Don't Get Fed (Mixtape)

The Georgia natives and KWT fam over at The Freedom Fighters collective is always a steady, dope source for hip hop music, whether it be a new visual from Steve Cantrell, a loose track from Baby Juice or a tough instrumental from David Luke. But this time, courtesy of the boys who hold their #FistHigh, comes Monte Carlo's most newest endeavor <#Food4Thought. With 17 tracks of good, FF featured music, this free download is too good to pass up.

Max Frost - "Frankie Lee" (feat. Kydd) [Video]

Austin, TX guitar player and singer/songwriter Max Frost lets loose of the visual for his latest collaboration with fellow Texas native Kydd. We were introduced to the producer/rapper from his Pac Div featured feel-good track "Now & Then," and have since been hip to his movement. Really digging the production on this, as Frost provides a jazzy, soulful backdrop for the two Austinites to flow over effortlessly.

Nicky D's - "Base For Your Face" (feat. Jimmy Astro & J.Nolan)

Come on Twaan...how'd you miss a collabo with three of your favorite young artists over a dope 9th Wonder sampled beat? Nick, Jimmy, Nolan, I apologize, but at least we came through with the post. Anyway, as stated before, the homie Nick D's came through about a week ago with features from longtime KWT roster mainstays Sir Jimmy and J. Nolan to create a track that's definitely, as Nick boasts in the intro, a breath of fresh air.

Big K.R.I.T. - Live From The Underground (Stream)

June 5th is the magic date, but before Krizzle's debut retail LP Live From The Underground hits, NPR Music gives the blogosphere (and those who mold it, thanks) a first listen to the highly anticipated album. Clutch stream job, bro.The only bad thing about it is I can't throw it on the iPod. Hit the link.

Be sure to venture to our neck of the woods on June 5th for everything King Remembered In Time. Shouts to the fam over at ACCC on the heads up.

50 Cent - "Murder One" (Video)

50 spits that clenched jaw shit in the first visual off of The Lost Tape. The comeback trail has been busy with dope music.

"Starting to feel like the old me..."

Nas - "Daughters" (Video)

I hadn't totally gotten into lyrical hip hop while Nas was still killin' it back in the day, so his resurgence has been very refreshing to me. I'm actually really excited for Life Is Good, which is slated for a July 17th release. "The Don" and "Daughters" have both killed it for me, so check the visual for the latter below.

Hassani Kwess - "Lombardi" (Video)

"Lombardi," one of the hardest hitting tracks from Kwess's most recent mixtape, is the second Ruthless single to score the visual treatment. Premiered right here at the KWTemple, the project remains one of my favorites of 2012 and is heavily slept on.

People need to hear this dude. Every time I chop it up with someone regarding hip hop, I make sure to mention DC's next to blow emcee, Hassani Kwess.

Dom Kennedy - "My Type Of Party" (prod. DJ Dahi)

As promised, Dom comes through with the first single for his mysterious upcoming project The Yellow Album. Produced by frequent New West artist collaborator DJ Dahi, this has all the makings of a typical DOM beat. Slow, catchy, ambient...or in other words, a genuine west coast anthem.

Mix Appeal: Jabari Parker

The top recruit in the class of 2013, Jabari Parker, and athletic forward form Derrick Rose's alma mater of Simeon Career Academy in Chicago, has springs and skill. Coach Calipari will be all over this guy for the next year...

Cocaine 80s - "Chain Glow" (feat. Nas)

The Chicago group Cocaine 80s has been on a tear as of late, bringing about the possibility of a new EP from James Fauntleroy, No I.D., Makeba Riddick, and Common. For their latest release, the supergroup grabs Nasir for a featured verse, making this one of the best Cocaine 80s tracks to date. Now we need one with both Common and Nas, that'd be dope.

GhostWridah - Downtown Lights (Album)

I know the fam TS has been chomping at the bit for this project, and thanks to him, Ghost is now a KWT favorite. Corresponding with the launch of his new website, Wridah gives us 12 new, original tracks to hold us over while he finishes up his debut retail LP. Preview the Trayvon Martin tribute "Skittles & Iced Tea" below and head down bottom for the tracklist.

GhostWridah - "Skittles & Iced Tea" (Trayvon Martin Tribute)

Carly Rae Jepsen - "Call Me Maybe" (Milk N Cookies Remix)

Chicago DJ/producer duo Milk N Cookies have been hard at work playing shows at clubs and bars, traveling, and preparing for upcoming summer festivals. Even with their hectic schedules, the twin brothers are still finding time to release new music to the masses, which is exactly what we've got here in the twosome's latest drop. This time around Milk N Cooks put their own deep house spin on the infectious, guilty pleasure track "Call Me Maybe," allowing for them to bump it at their sets throughout the country.

Give the buzzing DJs your support by downloading the track below, liking their Facebook page, and following them on Twitter. You won't be disappointed with their music info, performance pics and footage, and of course, the frattiest updates you'll ever come across.

Lupe Fiasco - "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)"

After a disappointing project in 2011's label-tampered Lasers, Lupe Fiasco is out to prove he's still one of the best emcees in the game with his highly anticipated Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album. With a rumored July release date, it'll undoubtedly be one of summer's best selling albums despite some huge projects dropping in the coming months.

Today, Lupe gave us a first taste of his fourth studio album by dropping off the LP's first single in the Pete Rock & CL Smooth sampling "Around My Way (Freedom Isn't Free)." No, you're not playing NBA Street Volume II, but you are bumping one of Lu's best tracks in a minute. Hit the jump to stream.

Asher Roth - "Outside"

As summer creeps in, Asher Roth found the perfect moment to unleash this ode to mother nature. Any KWT mommies, play this one for your fat kids. I should actually take some of Asher's advice, as I spend way too much time on this MacBook of mine.

David Dallas - "Pay Off"

After a buzz-making 2011, David Dallas, who now calls himself a New Yorker thanks to a change of scenery from his native New Zealand, dove right into working on his forthcoming album and follow-up to The Rose Tint, which was easily one of my favorite projects of last year. "Pay Off," the first we've heard from Dallas and said LP Falling Into Place's debut single, is the perfect theme song for this talented yet highly slept on emcee. I'm betting though, with a work ethic like the one he spits about here, he'll be on everyone's radar when the full project drops.

Fuse Interviews Action Bronson at Bamboozle (Video)

While out at Bamboozle, Fuse catches up with Bronsollini for some very personal, intimate questions including whether he takes bubble baths and his policy on blaming farts on others.

Hahaha, this is hilarious. Action is steadily moving up and up on my favorite emcees list. Let's hope his and Harry Fraud's Mr. Wonderful drops sometime soon.

Kanye West Unveils Film, Title of G.O.O.D. Compilation

Much like he did with his most recent solo LP My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Yeezy, through his company DONDA, will release Cruel Summer, a film that coincides with the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music Compilation album, at this year's Cannes Film Festival on May 23rd. The film was written, directed, and produced by Ye, and will be viewed in 7 Screen Experience, which he tweeted about a while back (pics after the jump).

Buy tickets here
It was also revealed that the G.O.O.D. Music Compilation Album, which is slated for release this summer, will be titled Cruel Summer as well, and that the film was inspired by the album's music and mood. After scoring Selita Ebanks for 2010's Runaway, it'll be interesting to see who Ye snags to be featured in this film. Hopefully, like last time, the film will be up on YouTube soon following the debut.

Curren$y - "Capitol" (feat. 2 Chainz)

I know Tity Boy is the most buzzed about artist in hip hop and a feature from him is a hot commodity, but it's getting to be a bit too much. My KWT counterparts may feel differently, but to me, 2 Chainz isn't anything special. Anyway, I love this beat, and with its catchy bassline and melodic flutes, it's the perfect beat for Spitta to preach the weed and women. 2 Chainz doesn't sound bad on this one, but I think it'd be better as a solo effort from Curren$y.

Previous: Curren$y - "What It Look Like" (feat. Wale)

T-Ray - "Raw" (Video)

Remember when the dude TS told all y'all to add Toronto spitter T-Ray to your seratos? It's time to take his advice. Can't Hear Me is on the way!

Childish Gambino - "We Ain't Them"

Donald has been leaking a lot of tracks lately, all of which will probably appear on his current project, a yet-to-be-titled mixtape that's set to drop soon. This one's a little bit more heartfelt than the previous releases, and in my opinion it's the best one yet. Fans of Childish? Let us know down bottom.

Mix Appeal: Kevin Durant

This year Kevin Durant won his third consecutive scoring title, which is unprecedented at his age of only 23. He also finished second in MVP voting, and his team had a record of 47-19. This is a mix of that shortened, but great season by the league's second best player. (LBJ is #1).

Paypa - "Tried To Tell Em" (feat. Raekwon, Nicky D's, & JD Era) [Video]

Knew about Nick D's from the early days of KWT. Things happen and we slipped up and never really got to contribute much for his career. Nick D's on the same track as Raekwon.... I'll give some praise for that. The track is solid as well.

Curren$y - The Stoned Immaculate Q&A

Q&A with Shaheem Reid. We can't wait.

Childish Gambino - "Unnecessary" (feat. ScHoolBoy Q)

Donald is gearing up to release his mixtape follow-up to Camp, and in the meantime Flex drops bombs on the first release from the project. These guys sound pretty good together, as Gambino can, when he wants to, spit that rawness that Quincy brings to the table. As stated, tags and clean version at the moment.

Big K.R.I.T. - Live From The Underground (Tracklist)

Perhaps the unanimous KWT most anticipated album of the summer, Live From The Underground is less than a month away, as it's set to drop June 5th. As Krizzle puts the finishing touches on his debut retail project, The King Remembered in Time unleashes the tracklist for the album, full with features from 2 Chainz, Ludacris, Bun B, B.B. King and more.

Rick Ross - "Touch 'N You" (feat. Usher)

KWT Store Open: Pins & Custom Bracelets Available Now

As some of you frequent KWT viewers may have already noticed, we've added a "Shop" tab to the navbar across the top of the site. LT and I have been working for a while to get some KWT products made, and we've finally taken the first steps in doing so. While we have bigger plans for the future, right now we're sticking to an online store that will soon consist of four or five products, all reasonably priced, for y'all to show your KWT support.

SHOP: KWT Store

1" in diameter, perfect for pinning onto hats, jackets, backpacks, etc.

When creating these products, the main goal we wanted to accomplish was for our shirts, stickers, and accessories to promote KWT while also keeping our customers looking as fresh as possible. We think we've done just that with our KWT Pow Buttons and our Custom Juicy Jewelry Bracelets (made by KWT homie @KidJims -- hit the jump for a few pics). Although these two items are the only ones available for purchase now, we are currently designing and working on a number of items, including shirts, stickers, and even KWT Custom Lighters. If you happen to live within reasonable driving distance of the KWTemple, order in person, otherwise, the site is fully functional and shipping is only $1 to anywhere in the US.

Swizz Beatz - "Street Knock" (feat. A$AP Rocky) [Video]

Don't get me wrong, Swizzy's got classics under his belt in the production side of things,  but I'm a solid supporter of him not stepping behind the mic. Regardless of how I (and about 3/4 of hip hop fans) feel, Sir Keys is currently putting the finishing touches on his Life After The Party EP, which will undoubtedly feature him spitting. This PMF assisted joint is the first single from said project, and, as boring as Swizz is on the track, it's not nearly as bad as his appearance on "Lord Lord Lord."

Yes, that is Allen Iverson. Is he that desperate for money? Oh yeah, he is. Those Reebok Questions are still one of my favorite hoops kicks of all time, though.

I Love College

I love college basketball, that's a given. March Madness is the best sporting event in North America. Forget the Super Bowl, it's only one game that's 4 hours long, this is weeks long, with the first two days lasting nearly 12 hours each day.

Action Bronson Live at Princeton House Party (Video)

Over the past weekend, Action Bronson and Raekwon performed live at what seemed to be a private fraternity house party at esteemed ivy league institution, Princeton University. Bronsolino said screw the stage and performed joints like Blue Chips' "Steve Wynn" while walking through crowds of shirtless frat boys clad in Ray Bans and pink shorts. The Flushing, Queens rep seemed at home, though, interacting with students, smoking his (XL) doob and heading indoors to grab a bagel just before going in on the Dr. Lecter standout "Barry Horowitz." This guy can do no wrong in my book, and is quickly ascending on my list of current favorite emcees.

This video really makes me wanna catch Bam Bam live. Too dope.

2 Chainz - "No Lie" (feat. Drake) [Explicit]

Big K.R.I.T - "I Got This" (Video)

This track isn't a Clear Channel hit, and it isn't the second coming of "Country Shit". Still, it's dope, but I imagine Def Jam will have to make a few more desperate moves before Live From the Underground drops on June 5th.

A bit too much blurring going on, to be honest.

Ballin' Line of the Week: Big L

Basketball and hip-hop music have a beautiful, symbiotic relationship. Each feeds upon the other. All basketball players want to be rappers, i.e. Shaquille O'Neal, Ron Artest, and all rappers want to be ball players. Basketball is part of rap culture, and rap culture is part of basketball culture. Regularly we see KD, or LeBron, or Kobe stroll in the arena, suited up, headphones over their ears.

And regularly we see Jay-Z, J.Cole, or Hoodie Allen reference Jordan, LeBron, and many other NBA players throughout their songs. The intertwined role that rap and basketball have is, personally, one of the most interesting aspects of rap culture. When basketball is combined with hip-hop music, two of my favourite things are brought together, which is awesome. After the jump I delve into some of my favourite basketball rap lines.

Danny! - "Goodbye Love" (prod. Danny!)

Hov's fav cat hits us with a UK bonus cut from his now-highly-anticipated Payback project, that's set to drop soon (we hope). I'd like to thank Jay, The Roots' Questlove, and our own TS for putting me onto the ATLien emcee/producer, who is really impressing me lately. And, according to those who have heard it, Payback has been doing the same to some big names in hip hop.

Kanye West - "Lost In The World" (Video)

Does Ye have a problem with people who suffer from epilepsy? Anyway, out of nowhere, Yeezy and English filmmaker Ruth Hogben collaborate to tackle the visual for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy's Justin Vernon featured masterpiece "Lost In The World." No idea what prompted the release of a going-on-two-year-old-track's video, but I'll gladly take it.

Sidebar: Is Kanye wearing Vans? That's gotta be the first time post Graduation that he's worn anything that retails at under $200. Maybe his socks? Nah, dude doesn't wear those.

Big Sean x Meek Mill - "Burn"

G.O.O.D. Music and MMG collide as each label's respective young gunner hops on the collaborative joint "Burn." To appear on both Dreamchasers 2, out Monday, and Sean's upcoming mixtape (riiiight, aren't we still waiting on that post-Finally Famous tape?), this cut's tough, and sounds just like I figured a Meek and Sean track would.

The Hundreds: Summer 2012 Collection

While we don't post clothing releases a lot, it's definitely something we are planning on implementing more into KWT in the future. A KWT Store looks like it's definitely an idea with some real substance, so with that in mind, making connections with streetwear and apparel companies is a must.

Always a favorite around these parts (just check LT's closet) is The Hundreds, who today released their Summer '12 collection for purchase. The lookbook has been available for some time, but as of May 3, the new lineup of hats, tees, tanks, shorts, shoes and more are available to add to your collection. Hit the jump to see some of our favorites from The Hundreds Summer '12 Collection.

J.Mars - "Black Diamond Shamballas" (Video)

We missed when the Delaware up and comer dropped his The Reservation mixtape earlier this year, but this smooth, catchy visual caught our eye in the inbox, fresh with its entrancing beat courtesy of Corn-Mill. After "Black Diamond Shamballas" had me intrigued, I moved on to the entire project, which was a pleasant surprise filled with impressive production and skilled flows.

Watch the visual above, and head after the jump for The Reservation's artwork full stream, and free download. From now on, expect J.Mars to be a very familiar name around these parts.

Meyhem Lauren - "Special Effects" (feat. Himanshu & Action Bronson)

Bam Bam Bronson's right hand man and fellow Queen's homie Meyhem Lauren was quite productive back at SXSW in March, recording an entire album with producer Harry Fraud. The first release from that project, which is set to release soon, is now here, and was produced by Fraud with featured slots from Bronson and Das Racist's Himashu. Bronsollini is slowly molding into one of my favorites, and with that, it's making this type of rap much more likable for this dude.

Mix Appeal: Gabe York

Highlights are awesome, it's a fact. Basketball highlights, however, are especially awesome, with everything from dunks, assists, blocks, alley-oops and more. When these highlights are put together, they form a "mix" which is exactly what this post is about.

If a current mix does not come out that week, I will post one of my favourite mixes, old school or not. This week, the honour goes to Gabe York for his ridiculous display of athleticism. Watch the Arizona bound guard's mix after the jump.

Trailblaza - "Peace of Mind" (prod. Flawless Tracks)

The newest artist to grace the pages of KWT is rapper/producer Trailblaza. His newest release "Peace of Mind" was a definite standout in the inbox, as the production, courtesy of Flawless Tracks, is smooth and Blaze compliments it nicely. Look out for dude's Nihil Timendum Est to drop sometime this summer.

Download: "Peace of Mind" (prod. Flawless Tracks)

Azad Right - "Alone" (Video)

This summer, California MC Azad Right's The Time Is Right mixtape is set to receive an upgrade, as homie will be dropping The Time Is Right: Deluxe Edition in the coming months. "Alone" is the forthcoming project's first release, for which Azad and company shot a video, which can be seen below.

We caught on to Azad pretty early in his career, and the coverage he's been getting recently is insane. With interviews with Billboard and blog love from some of our favorite sites, dude is finally blowing up. Deservedly so. Congrats.

Jimmy Astro - "Quickie" (prod. Jimmy Astro)

This production done by Jimmy on his newest track "Quickie" has got to be the best we have heard from the Memphis MC. With this track being only about 2 minutes long (such a fitting title), it definitely leaves us wanting more.

Waka Flocka Flame - I Don't Really Care (feat. Trey Songz) [Video]

While I try and figure out how to blast "I Don't Like" the loudest I possibly can, give this a watch. Hey, it's topical.

Peace and love, as always.

Chief Keef - "I Don't Like (Remix)" [feat. Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T & Jadakiss]

Singles pushed back, that's that sh*t I don't like.
