Meek Mill Meets Rick Ross For the First Time (Video)
Who says World Star is only good for the "*MUST BE 18+ EXPLICIT CONTENT*" videos? This is pretty dope right here.
Slaughterhouse - "Throw It Away" (Video)
Everyone hates on this joint, but I'm a fan. Yeah, SH slacked a bit in the verse department, but it's a good weekend song. Besides, once you've got multiple dollar long islands in your system, bars all blend together anyway.
Sean Price - "Smoov P"
Originally intended for Mic Tyson, he-who-punches-through-school-buses offers this up as freebie. New P is good P (pause).

Casey Veggies - "Summer, I Suppose" (prod. Rich Kidd)
Just the other day, "Ridin' Roun' Town" came on shuffle and I wondered when Young Veggies would let loose of another summer smash. This time around, Rich Kidd supplies the beat and CV continues to prove that he's incapable of making a bad track.

Russ - "Let Me Know" (prod. Russ)
DIEMON's young dual threat artist continues to stack my playlists, this time unleashing a laid back, soulful, self-produced joint. Although this one is just a fun, loose cut, I'm sure it won't be long until Russ releases a new project. Is the ATL collective the next big crew to take the hip hop community by storm? KWT is sure of it.

The Cafeteria Line - HNGRY (Mixtape)
Consisting of TiRon, Ayomari, and a number of other dope, upcoming artists, The Cafeteria Line is one of the more underrated rosters in hip hop music. Today, the crew surprisingly let loose of their compilation mixtape entitled HNGRY, a movement that both TiRon and Ayomari have been pushing for a while now. Head down bottom to stream the entire project, and, if your taste is respectable at all, head over to TCL's BandCamp page to spend a small fee for an awesome collection of music.

2 Chainz - "Birthday Song" (feat. Kanye West) [Video]
Dancing middle-aged asians, a young 2 Chainz that's only wearing one chain, misplaced flapjacks, boring lap dances, Yeezy wearing way too much leather, waddling midgets, an oft-bullied clown, and, of course, a surplus of big booty hoes.
Somehow, I didn't expect anything different from Tity Boi and Ye's Based On A T.R.U. Story collabo visual. Definitely one of the more strange vids of the year.

Nas - "Bye Baby" (Video)
Nasir's most personal cut from Life Is Good now exists in visual form. I think we all know who "baby" is referring to, but if not, you need to do your homework.
Pac Div - "Black Acura" (feat. Mac Miller & Raven Sorvino) [prod. Thelonious Martin]
We're still a month and a half away from The Div's GMB release, but, as my fellow #Knuckleheadz know, them Pac Div dudes be them active dudes. Earlier today, the left coast trio unleashed the forthcoming project's newest and second single, featuring production from Chi-City's Thelonious Martin and guest slots from both Mac Meezy and Miss Raven Sorvino. Like, Mibbs and BeYoung don't like to give anything away, so expect one, maybe two more single drops before GMB drops in full on October 16th.

Rapsody - The Idea of Beautiful (Album)
Jamla's leading lady Rapsody continues to prove she's armed with one of rap's most potent work ethics by dropping her newest album, The Idea of Beautiful. Featuring production from 9th Wonder, Khrysis and more and guest slots from Ab-Soul, Mac Miller, The Cool Kids and others, the NC femcee's skills are obviously well respected among some of the genre's finest.

Slaughterhouse - Welcome to: OUR HOUSE (Album)
Royce, Joey, Joell and Crooked finally release their long awaited LP featuring the likes of Eminem, Swizz Beatz and Busta Rhymes. We already know "Throw That" and "Throw It Away" are aimed toward the airwaves, but it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the project rides the line of mainstream versus underground. Let's hope these four stick to what they do best.

Lupe Fiasco - "Battle Scars" (feat. Guy Sebastian)
I originally thought this was Guy Sebastian's single, but apparently it'll live on Lupe's forthcoming September album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1. He should probably make the title a little longer, it's too short to stick with people. I kid, I kid, but forrealz, Lupe's killing it, and F&L2 is my dark horse for AOTY. Come at me, bro.

Hoodie Allen - "Feel The Love" (prod. RJF)
After his fully original, sample-free All American EP, which independently skyrocketed to number one overall on iTunes, Hoodie gets back to what he loves most on his RJF produced, Euro-pop sampling track "Feel The Love." Inspired by English indie band Rudimental, the NY native and longtime producer put their own spin on the group's track of the same name, creating an upbeat, club friendly joint that'll put a smile on your face and a bounce to your foot no matter your mood. You all know the drill, Joey Crack and Kanye rap while a bunch of other rappers all sound the same. Now there's a matching video that, for some reason, took a cosmic year to drop despite its simplicity.
Mix Appeal: Andrew Wiggins & Aquille Carr
Two of the most exciting high school players are featured in this week's segment: Andrew Wiggins and Aquille Carr. Wiggins is the Canadian basketball prodigy who is only entering the 11th grade, is the number one recruit of 2014, and possibly the best player currently in high school...regardless of class. Carr, on the other hand, is a 5'6" dribbling machine with a near 50-inch vert, who will attend Seton Hall in the fall of 2013...

Common - "No Sell Out" (prod. No ID)
A newly released Comm joint is one of my favorite happenings in hip hop, and even more so when he's got No ID on the beat. Sounds to me like this track was put down during The Dreamer, The Believer studio sessions, which makes me wonder why it didn't make the cut. Smooth, soulful production like we have here is where Common flourishes, but I'm excited to see what Lonnie does with the newly trap-ish G.O.O.D. production that will undoubtedly be all over Cruel Summer.

KWTracks Contest Winner: LGTimate - "Arts & Craft"
Just in case you're new around these neck of the woods, we'll recap our KWTracks Contest for y'all. If you're familiar, head down bottom. Anyway, back in June, we released a Twaan produced instrumental entitled "Sunshine" on the site, asking aspiring rappers to throw a verse or two on the beat and then submit their versions to KWT. We received countless submissions over "Sunshine," some local, some stranger, some dope, some terrible. With a spot on the upcoming KWT Mixtape at stake, our first KWTracks Contest was a huge success, opening the door for many more in the near future.
![]() |
| Follow the homie on Twitter @LGTimate |
After a solid month of receiving content and another month of reviewing it (admittedly, I was a little lazy on this end), there was an obvious, clear-cut version of "Sunshine" that stood out as the clear winner. A product of hometown rapper LGTimate, "Arts & Craft" is the victor of our opening KWTracks Contest. Listen below and tell us what you think of LGT's rapid, witty bars in the c-section. Expect a downloadable version to hit when the KWT Mixtape eventually drops.
Sir Michael Rocks - "GED" (feat. Tris J) [Video]
Sir Mike can't drop a project without an appearance from the Chi-City homie and Toothpick Clique leader Tris J, and with Lap of Lux releasing recently, "GED" was the tape's token TPC collabo. LoL is one of those efforts that is bumpable front to back, meaning I need as many accompanying visuals as possible. Mikey and Tris satisfy my needs by crowning "GED" deserving of the freelease's second music video. The Rockie Fresh assisted "Can't Hide It" earns my vote for vid number three, but really I'd be happy with any track visualized.

Lupe Fiasco - "B*tch Bad" (Video)
Lupe's been on his grind lately. I mean damn, three singles and two vids already, and it's not even release month yet. I think it's safe to say Wasalu enjoys Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album much more than he did Lasers at this point in its promo. And after the disappointment surrounding his previous LP, F&L2 is looking to be quite the opposite.

Slaughterhouse - "Throw That" (feat. Eminem)
Exactly one week prior to the release of the foursome's Welcome To: OUR HOUSE album, Slaughterhouse unleashes the LP's first single, locked and loaded with a Slim Shady feature at hand. Right from the start, it was apparent "Throw That" wasn't the group's typical, lyrical onslaught, as the bouncy, synth-heavy production pleads radio play. While the bars still may be tough from all, the beat is enough to turn any Slaughterhouse stan away, including myself.

The Top 5 Usain Bolt References in Hip-Hop
There's no better athlete for a rapper to reference than Usain Bolt. The dominance, the swagger, and the likability of the Jamaican Olympian makes for a perfect, relevant hip hop reference point. Rappers know this as well as anyone, and, in the recent history of hip hop music, there has been a major outburst of emcees name dropping The King of Speed. Whether it be through metaphors, analogies, or a basic punchline, a Usain Bolt reference in rap is sure to garner "oohs" and "ahhs" from listeners.
In light of Bolt's recent gold medal sweep of his two London 2012 events (the 4x100m relay on Saturday could make him three for three), KWT has compiled five of the best Usain mentions hip hop has to offer. Hit the jump to hear and read the lines, our thoughts, and our Olympic-themed grading scale.

Hip Hop's 5 Best Signature Ad-Libs
As hip hop continues to grow so do the new ways for artists to deliver and separate themselves from the others. It seems that today's hip hop bunch have found love in the use of ad-libs. But it's not necessarily the new, rising stars that are the only one's making waves in the ad-lib game, with veterans having classic ad-libs such as; Birdman's "bird call" and Jay-Z's "Hov!".
Seeing as ad-libs are an essential part of hip hop, I thought it would be fitting to put together my favorite ad-libs from today's artists. The criteria being hilarity and/or dopeness (judged by me) and the recognition the artists have received for the ad-lib.

Kendrick Lamar - "Swimming Pools (Drank)" [Video]
With good kid, m.A.A.d city's October release date just two calendar flips away, what better time for Kendrick Lamar to visualize his debut LP's airwave single. The funny thing about a K.Dot radio single, though, is that it remains less mainstream than most's street singles, but somehow will still get the crank treatment from local DJs. Beautiful.
Hit-Boy - HITstory (Artwork)
After a couple of single releases, it looks like Hit-Boy is bound to be hip hop's next big producer turnt rapper. The truth is in the music, though, and although "Jay-Z Interview" and "Old School Caddy" each held their own, the consensus will hit on Tuesday when the free project is released.

Aaliyah - "Enough Said" (feat. Drake)
Ummmm... still don't really know what this is. It seems that some of the hip-hop community might think Aubrey is out of line with this album thing he is doing. Regardless I guess we owe him some thanks for allowing KWT to premier our first ever "Aaliyah" tag. Twaan Update: Like LT said, much to the dismay of many, it looks like Drizzy somehow nabbed the Executive Producer's chair for Aaliyah's forthcoming, posthumous album. No word on the project's name, release date, or content, other than the fact that this Noah "40" Shebib produced joint is the album's first offering.
Nice land, Aubrey, but, are you really the right person for the job? Let's let the comments decide here.

Pac Div - "Take Me Back" (prod. Rich Kidd)
Originally intended for the group's Mania! mixtape, this Rich Kidd produced track was left off of the Cali trio's 2011 freelease, and now, a year and a half later, is finally liberated. Produced by Rich Kidd, "Take Me Back" appeared on the rapper/producer's We On Some Rich Kidd Shiiiiiit, Vol. 6 mixtape, which released today.

SonReal - "Up Up Up" (Video)
A backyard barbecue is the setting for the VanCity kid SonReal's "Up Up Up" visual. The Good News feel-good anthem is the first joint from said project to receive an accompanying video.

Sir Michael Rocks - Lap Of Lux (Mixtape)
My favorite half of the Cool Kids continues to ride out on his solo career with another dope 15 track tape. With the likes of Mac Miller, Young Veggies, and Rockie Fresh this tape is sure to have some gems.

NBA 2K13 Soundtrack Released
NBA2K13 is coming out soon, and with that comes a soundtrack. This year, Jay-Z was put on the design team serving as "executive producer," whatever that entails only Jay and the 2K Sports team know. But, that being said, one of the duties that Jay-Z did assume was creating the 24 song soundtrack (same number of songs as seconds in an NBA shotclock). Perfect man to do the job if you ask me.
Hit the jump to see what the part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets put on the soundtrack of the latest NBA video game...
